Dr Chan’s retirement gathering is on Saturday 15th December at Hickings Lane Medical Centre 11.30-1.30 and all patients are welcome to drop in and join in her celebrations.

Other Services

Antenatal Clinic

The midwife gives advice on all aspects of your pregnancy and visits mothers and babies after the baby is born. She sees our antenatal ladies on Tuesday afternoons. During office hours, the midwife can be contacted at the Stapleford Care Centre on 0115 8835000.

Family Planning

You may discuss any of these services with either the doctor or the practice nurses. We provide a range of contraception including contraceptive pills, injection, copper and hormonal coils and the implant procedures. We also have a practice policy dedicated to the request of emergency (after sex) contraception. Please be reassured that all reception staff abide by the NHS code of confidentiality.

Minor Surgery

The surgery provides minor surgical procedures including cryotherapy, joint injection, excision and aspiration of simple lumps etc. You would need to see the doctors prior to arrangement of any procedure.


If you require a blood test only, our phlebotomist is available Monday to Friday mornings; please use this service to save valuable practice nurse time.


If you would like a chaperone present in a doctor or nurse appointment please let the doctor or nurse know when you are called in.

Additional Support

If you require additional support and feel you may need more time with the clinician, please bring it to the attention of the receptionists.
