FLU CLINICS NOW AVAILABLE
We are aware that you are being asked by Pharmacists to have your flu jab with them and stating it takes the pressure off GP surgeries. We would prefer you to have the vaccination here as it gives our nurses an opportunity to see if there is anything outstanding in your records e.g. blood tests, blood pressure check etc.

If you are aged 65 or over, pregnant, or have a chronic condition (Asthma, COPD, Diabetes, Coronary Heart Disease, Chronic Kidney Disease, history of splenectomy etc.) you may be eligible for a flu jab.
Please contact Hickings Lane Medical Centre to book your flu appointment

Did you know that you can now order repeat prescriptions and book routine GP appointments online? If you would like access to this service please ask at reception or see our online services page for details.

Named Accountable GP

As part of a new contractual requirement for 2015/16, all patients at a GP practice are to be allocated a named accountable GP.

What does this mean for you?

You are unlikely to see any notable change in the way care is delivered to you. The responsibilities of your named GP will be to:

  • Take the lead responsibility for ensuring that all appropriate services required by you from the GP Practice are provided.
  • When required, use their professional judgement to work with relevant health and social care professionals to deliver a care package that meets your needs.
  • Ensure your physical and psychological needs are recognised and responded to by the relevant clinicians in the practice.

All new patients will be registered under Dr Doddy. These responsibilities will be carried out within the opening hours of the surgery and do not change the way you currently access care outside of these hours.

Guide to GP Services

The Royal College of General Practitioners has produced a useful guide for patients about the services on offer at GP Surgeries and how to access them.  You can download the guide below.
